My goodness, there is no need to hide it!!! Times are so different now and men are more involved in pregnancies now that its totally different from way back when. My husband is in the Navy and he and the guys sit around talking about their pregnant wives and kids all the time. Quit trying to hide it and be proud. There is no good way to hide a pregnancy anyways, your stomach is going to grow and there is nothing you can do about it. Congrats on the baby.

You're a grown up, you'd be surprised how well men take a pregnancy, especially at a law firm. If you are just trying to hide it for the next few weeks, buy some tunic tops that give a bit of flow aroundt he mid-section.

You won't be able to hide it for much longer. Plus, when you deliver there will have to be maternity leave. Be honest with them.
You would be surprised at how well men accept and like pregnancy. Wait until you are fully in your second trimester and just starting to show. Go in, tell your boss, and assure him you plan on coming back after the baby is born (that is if you are). I'm sure you will get LOTS of congratulations. They may not ask alot of questions during the pregnancy, but that is just how men are! :)
If you plan on becoming a stay-at-home mom be honest with them on that so they can find someone to replace and that you can train for after you leave. They will be alot happier than if you just leave them!

Most women don't start showing until 16 weeks or more. And even then, with tunic tops, or longer flowing tops around your midriff, you can easily hide it. It's not until you get a fair way into your pregnancy that most women really can't hide it anymore. I can understand also the worry about what people will think, especially men. If you stay on the ball, and professional, then it really doesn't matter what they think in the end. They can't legally fire you for being pregnant, and if you have any trouble, it's most likely sexual harassment. Congratulations :-)

i was preggo with twins working a fuel desk at a truck stop. most people have certain thoughts of truck drivers and how they act/talk. they took to my pregnancy like it was their own. it was fun to see their reactions as i grew (i was HUGE). they would tease me about my cravings, and the lovely maternity clothes i was forced to wear. human instinct takes over i think and the "fathering" thing kicks in. they would not allow me to go outside, or do anything "physical". if they thought i looked sick they would sneak a call to my manager to come help me out. they were worse than "old mother hens". im sure the men at your place of work will surprise you too. and being at a LAW firm im sure they know the repercussions for gettin out of line. Be proud and be strong, it is a special time and should be enjoyed. dont worry about what others think or say. good luck and congrats

Avoid the traditional maternity clothes and opt for more fashionable choices. There are some nice, not real expensive options sold at Target. Most people will assume you are just gaining a little weight. Your weight and body type now will determine how long you can "hide" your pregnancy.

Seeing as you work in a law firm, everyone is well aware of your LEGAL RIGHT to have a baby. There is nothing that can be done due to your pregnancy, and they HAVE to offer you FMLA leave. You should know all this too. Wear your belly proud! It is your right!

My dad works at a law firm and they just hired a woman whose baby is due in August. Try not to worry about it. They're going to find out, so you might as well tell them now. It's illegal for them to fire you because of pregnancy if that's what you're worried about.

Is there a reason they wouldn't respond well? That doesn't make a lot of sense. To answer your question, there really isn't a good way to hide it. You stomach will grow and unless you are already morbidly obese, then someone is going to notice.

Suits in dark colors and get the jacket in a larger size and longer length. Pinstripes work miracles. This should help if this job is temporary, but if its permanent, you need to give your boss a heads up and put in the maternity leave ASAP.
