Of course it's not a war on Islam. It's a war on Radical Islam. After all, most of our allies in this "war" are Muslims - the Iraqi govt., Pakistan, Turkey, etc. Most Muslims aren't our enemies, and we can't afford for them to be our enemies anyway.

No, not at all. Its a completely illogical statement to say that we are at war with Islam. There are absolutely no facts that could possibly lead one to conclude that we are at war with Islam. Other than the fact that we are fighting IN (not against) two countries where Islam is the dominant religion, what could possibly lead you to conclude that we are at war with Islam when everything else shows that we arent. We are fighting agaisnt the terrorists who hold Iraq and Afghanistan as a safehaven to plan out their evil attacks on Western societies. Many muslims live within the United States, and there is no governmental law or even pressure towards muslims to change religion. The terrorists are Islamic extremists who take the text of the Quaran out of context to justify their attacks against Western Civiliazation.

NO!

Al-Qaeda represents a small amount of Muslims. You can talk to thousands of Islamic people across the globe and they will disagree with the entire idea of jihads and suicide-bombers. What Bush is doing is making it seem like Islam and terrorism are related, putting thousands of Muslims in our country in danger! It's not a war on Islam. Not in any way.

I would say no. President Bush is insistent on saying that Islam has been "hijacked" by "radicals." He goes out of his way to mention this whenever he speaks on the subject. Furthermore, the U.S. has very good relations with numerous Muslim nations (i.e. Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Kuwait, etc.).

There is no doubt that we are engaging a terrorist enemy that can't be understood without acknowledging their link to a very radical form of Islam. This is not to say that there are not peaceful Muslims- they are in the majority (or at least I hope so). But the face of modern terrorism has become (for better or worse) radical Muslim men and women willing to blow themselves up for Allah.

Yes I agree with him but the radical Muslims have announced war with anyone that isn't Muslim just like it says in the Koran. I know not all Muslims are radical and in fact I've come to know several and they are OK Joe's but the radical ones like OBL need to be wiped of the face of earth.

War with islam? i do think so... to me it would be cruel to go war with specific religion.Islam does not a religion that hates other religion. If america did not disturb the muslim community, then i believe the muslim community will do the same.

In these very and exceptionally rare circumstances like this, I am forced to agree with Bush.
With that being said, I think there are far better ways of fighting terrorists than just killing the people they dooped into following them, which isn't being done.

If it were a war on Islam we'd be roundin' those little bastards up in cattle cars and sending them off to Auschwitz. No it's not.

Radical Islam is the problem.

What the war is really about.
