If you were to have a miscarriage at 10 weeks, would you be able to tell it was a baby once the fetus is expelled? I've been having brown spotting on and off for about a week and yesterday I could have swore I seen something grey looking on the toilet paper, but it was really small. I haven't had any red spotting or bleeding or any cramps. But I was just wondering if you could expell the fetus without actually bleeding and if so, would you be able to tell it was an actual baby?

Yes, I went to the doctor Friday, and all they did was listen to the heartbeat, they didn't do an ultrasound or anything, that's why I'm still worried

I had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and here is what happened to me:

I started spotting but the blood was generally red and I didn't have cramps. After a few days the bleeding got heavier and I started passing gray tissue with the blood. On the fourth day I got cramps and started bleeding heavily. I went to the emergency room where I was bleeding heavier than a period and passing clots. I never saw anything that looked like a fetus although the nurses at that point cleaned up the clots and other blood so I am not sure.

Bleeding in pregnancy can be benign or the sign of a miscarriage. Passage of anything tissue-like is not generally a good sign, but you should always speak to a doctor about this. Brown blood is usually a sign that the blood is old and therefore not generally a problem - but this is not always the case. Bleeding can be caused by an internal exam, sexual intercourse, implantation (although that would be late for you), an infection or for no known reason. My sister-in-law bled throughout her pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby -- I started bleeding in two pregnancies and miscarried at 10 and 6 weeks.

Please call your doctor right away and if you do start to bleed heavily go to the emergency room.

I wish you the best of luck.

I had a miscarriage, after which a child now not lengthy after, then an extra miscarriage. Considering I used to be instructed I'd not ever get pregnant, I regarded that one a blessing. Two years later I move pregnant once more, and we had fun and inspiration we would not ever get pregnant once more. Then #three used to be born 18 months after #two...WOW! Then #four used to be 15 months after #three, then 18 months later #five....we began pondering it used to be a few variety of cosmic funny story! #6 used to be born 2 years after #five, and quantity seven (we name her seven of 7) used to be born 2 years after #6. My SIL additionally confronted a few miscarriages, 4 or 5 I believe, she stopped telling us after a at the same time. She bought pregnant approximately ten years in the past even though, after which popped out FIVE in ten years. So we are each particularly cheerful with our little benefits. I'm sorry in your loss, I do not know what else to inform you besides to preserve your hopes up. I not ever inspiration I'd be so blessed, and I recall the ones days of dread, each and every month of praying. We had been complete nuts throughout our pregnancies, principally on account that all of our miscarriages had been after 12 weeks...a ways into the trimester of 'safeguard'.

Let's see, you've been spotting for a week and you haven't gone to the doctor?!?!?!?!

Go to the doctor, ask him/her. Please get this checked out.

PS: A 10 week old fetus is 40mm, which is about an inch and a half.
