My son is not doing so well in english and maths. He is 9 which is KS2 level i believe. I cant seem to find a private tutor for my area. Anyone know how I can find one?

Thanks richmond girl i will ask his head teacher. HIs class teacher is less than useless and I fear that because he is behind in some subjects, they have just not bothered teaching him the other things that he really should know...

I agree with richmond*girl that your first port of call should be your son's head teacher, so that you can discuss your concerns and see what the school has to offer. Your local authority (child services) has a duty to ensure that your son receives an appropriate education and receives any extra support he may need. This, however, can be a lengthy procedure and if you wish to seek outside tuition I can suggest the link I put below, which will lead you to a Kumon maths and English tutor in Taunton;-

Have you asked his class teacher?? I found a fab tutor for my daughter through hers - she was a friend who taught elsewhere!
