Not really sure what you mean by instant fire logs but petrol stations (in the UK) often sell coal, kindling etc. so you could try them. Never noticed anything other than BBQ stuff in the supermarket.

This is the "off season" for them but Walmart here has them. I have also seen them at the discount type stores.

Kroger's usually has them and also some of the drug stores. Like CVS or Rite-Aid.
