Can someone explain to me why people continue to be unfaithful? I see questions on here all the time from folks wanting to know how to deal with betrayal.

How many relationships have to be destroyed before people finally come to their senses and realize it is wrong? I know there is an endless list of reasons for straying, but are people just not capable of surpressing their desires?

Perhaps humans are not meant to be monogamous.

From what I've read here, I agree that it's sometimes for the excitement of something new or "wrong and the thrill of not getting caught (sometimes)". I also very much agree that cheating happens when something in the person's relationship is lacking. It doesn't have to be sexual, but even emotional inattention can cause straying. Being in an unhappy relationship makes the cheater not see much wrong in their actions at the time--they just want to be happy. Sometimes, even when their concerns are voiced to their significant other, they still go unnoticed and then their cheating actions seem even more validated in their mind.

It has a great deal to do with not getting what you need from a relationship. It seems it is easier to look elsewhere than it is to discuss it and reach what might be a workable solution for all concerned. People seem to find it difficult to communicate openly about their wants and needs, and thus end up ruining one relationship for another that may in some other way be as equally unsatisfying.

The grass is always greener, but it still has to be mowed.

Good question. I believe humans can be monogamous it just takes someone wanting to be that way. People don't always take time to find what they are looking for or they just are in to seeing what they can get from various people. It's a maturity issue & some people never graduate to that level.

First of all cheating is wrong . But a lot of people are doing it .You know the saying " The Grass is always greener " . Marriages get stale and you have to work at it all the time to keep the excitement in it . If a person decides to cheat, they should get a divorce .You can't have it both ways .

I personally believe this is an issues of character. Is it hard to be with the same person that irritates you from time to time? Is it hard to avoid the excitement of something new? Absolutely!! Still, if you make a commitment, you keep it. I think our society has just lost sight of values. We seem to teach our children that they should do anything that makes them happy and feel good. Well folks, that's just not the truth.

temptation is all around us for some it is cookies and some it is sex i think it is partly the thrill of trying to not get caught for some it is because they can get away with it for some they are getting attention that they lack at home there are a variety if reasons why people do what they do but God will judge them in the end
