You go to a restaurant. You order your food, and choose a booth to sit and wait. Your number is called (or the waiter brings your food) and you begin eating. Then some family (sometimes a couple that looks sketchy, sometimes a couple that looks normal) comes in and sits behind you. Everything is fine until the kids start yelling and screaming at the tops of their lungs... Anyone?

That has to be one of the most annoying thing on earth! You'd think parents would be able to control their children more than that. My parents would threaten to take us to the car, which meant yelling and spanking.

Yeah well it's a hell of a lot worse for the parents who are trying to have a normal meal out too and have their kids yelling. This doesn't mean that they are bad parents or that they should be banned from dining out with their kids, but it is extremely embarrassing especially when there are those who get their panties in a bunch over it and start giving dirty looks and all. I never thought it was a biggie and usually those parents are trying their best not to keep it going...so EVERYONE can enjoy their little meal.

I'm a mom so I know how situations can escalate out of control very quickly...especially when the child senses that there is tension all around the room. But crying children and their parents have just as many rights to eat in a restaurant as you do, so it is something you learn to deal with. Humans on a whole are annoying and make all sorts of silly noises and have disgusting habits and are still allowed in public...go figure!

Yes, it can get annoying when you are tired. But then I have a six year-old daughter that I am sure can get on other people's nerves if she is yelling/screaming. Just be calm, patient, and try to understand what the parents are dealing with. Good Luck!

Yes, that is annoying. What's more annoying is when the kid gets up and starts running around the restaurant or starts screaming in a movie or you are trapped with one on an airplane for 6 or 7 hours.

Ok, i can see both sides of this as im a parent of two myself :) Yes i agree when your eating, a child running around being a bit noisy can be slightly offputting? But, if it is a family resteraunt/ environment that you have chosen to eat in its to be expected!! Children cant be glued to a chair lol (as much as i have wanted to on a realy bad day :D ) they are children and thats what they do :) But, i dont let my children run around when eating and i do try to keep the noise to a low level when we do eat out :)

Yes, take the little sh** outside and let them play in the traffic.

And the parents thinking "it's so cute"....give me a break!
Leave your annoying little turds at home, they have no place out in public where they will be disturbing the peace (mine).

Now, if you want to pay for my and my date's entire dinner (including apertiff and dessert), then perhaps we can discuss some kind of an arrangement....
otherwise, keep your kids's traps shutty!

Some humans (those annoying brats) should come into the world as adults instead of as children, life would be so much easier to deal with then.

"Hey YOU! YES, you there with those screaming, unruly kids...
I'll make you a deal...you go ONLY to restaurants that advertise themselves as "Family Restaurants"....
and...
I WON'T!!"

how about when the kid throws a tantrum and starts throwing food around.. I do not like children who are not well behaved and totally blame the parents for it. If they were not allowed to be total brats at home, it would not happen while they were out. it is rude and disrespectful of the parents to allow it to happen and interfere with others.

Yes! gosh, and well it's not the kid's fault-cuz he doesn't know any better, i totally blame it on the parents..and i hate it when the parents just give their kids the 'silent treatment' and ignore them--hoping that the kid will stop screaming by himself....be a good parent darn it, take care of your kid and be considerate of the people around you, it's a public place not your private home---so you can't just ignore your kid screaming/crying!!

Yes it is quite annoying. The problem I have is when the parents cannot control the situation and then as a last resort, they fail to take the child outside.
