The pre-marriage blood test has nothing to do with testing the couples ability to get pregnant and having different blood types holds no bearing on a couples ability to conceive.
Pre-marital blood testing is to check for Sexually Transmitted Diseases and some genetic diseases like sickle cell anemia.

When I got blood tested (which is now not required in all states) they told me it was to check for sickle cell anemia, to cross your blood together and check if you would be more likely to create a certain type of child. It was originated back around 1850-1900 to determine if a couple would be more likly to create a child with lower IQ thus a drain on society. My state did not test for sexually transmitted diseases.
