He likes to eat every 2 hours about 3 ounces at a time. Someone from my job says he should only be eating every 3 hours 4 ounces at a time.

There is a standard that doctors like to see, but all baby's are different. You don't want to over-feed them, but you can try to change their schedule so that they are eating less often and more at one time. Check with your doctor- he may be fine just eating as he is.

No the 2 hr thing sounds right. HE knows when he is hungry. Besides babies are diff. If thats how he want to eat then thats fine. And your co-worker does not realize that he is still eating the same amount as 3hrs by 4ounces...at the end of the day its the same amount pretty much. his stomache may only be able to hold 3 ounces at a time. Trust me your baby is completley normal.

babies aren't born knowing how to overeat. Trust your child, if he's hungry feed him. Mine all ate every 2 hours durring the day at that age also and less frequently at night. I think you are right on track. All babies are different and feed more or less frequently than others. You could offer 4 ounces and if he eats it great if not that's ok, if he does, hold off the next feeding for about 3 hours. Trust your baby.

Do not listen to that person from your work. A baby at that age eats about 15 times per day, some more, some less. The key is don't watch the clock, watch your baby. If your baby is hungry... feed him. It's supply and demand right now, whether you are breast or bottle feeding. Again, you should never watch the clock.....feed him when he is hungry, and please do not listen to bad advice, that suggests otherwise. Good luck.

Well my brother was mostly breast fed, but when he did drink a bottle, he drank 4 ounces every 2 hours. It doesn't really matter how much your baby eats, don't deny him food if he/she wants it.

If you up him to 4 oz. he'll go 3 hours. I always kept my daughter at every 4 hours and when she started wanting it every 3 hours, I gave her another oz. to stretch it back to 4 hrs. Now shes 5 months, 6 oz. every 4 hrs.

try and give him 4 ozs. see if he can hold it, but what hes doing now doesnt seem unusual. if he ever goes 3 hours without eating, like at night, then you know he can.
