i have nothing but personal experience to base this on, so no one come back with some bookish answer, cause i wasnt trying to get pregnant. but i concieved 3 days after having any sexual contact. i dont know how - we were both quite shocked. good luck!

If the cervical mucus is watery or egg white like, it can last up to 5 days. When you have any other kind of cm, the sperm will only live for a few hours. The fertile CM is usually present a few days before ovulation, so yes, sex 4 days before ovulation can lead to a pregnancy. In fact, I conceived my daughter by having sex 4 daus before I ovulated.

Today, the 18th, and 19th would probably be good days to have intercourse again. The 14th is probably too soon. Although sperm can last in the female body for up to 5 days, 2 days is probably pushing it. You say you ovulate on the 18th, do you get the symptoms and a positive ovulation test or do you know you ovulate? You generally get the positive and the symptoms 24 - 36 hours before you ovulate.

They use to say about 3 days. Now doctors say sperm can live up to 5 days. The goal is to have the sperm there and waiting for the egg. Having unprotected sex every other day starting 2 weeks after you period is what is suggested. That is if you have an average 28 day cycle.

It depends on YOUR cervical fluid. If you are dry or have little fluid the sperm will not last very long. If your fluid is sticky, stretch and looks like raw egg whites, then the sperm can last for 3-5 days. This is because the later is the more fertile fluid so it will help the sperm travel to the egg.
