I'm entering Duke University but I live in MN. One of the issues I'm having is getting credit for some math courses I took at the University of MN. Duke has a policy that if a student takes classes at a different university and those classes count for high school credit then those credits cannot be accepted. However, MN State Statute 120B.14 requires high schools to give credit for any work done by students in higher educational facilities. So, is there any way I can force Duke given this state law to give me credit even though it violates their rules?

The statute to which you refer requires the HS to accept the credits from the university. It does not require a university to accept credits from a high school. Additionally, because Duke is not in Minnesota and is a private institution, a Minnesota statute would not apply even if it did say what you believed it to say.

The MN statue applies to high schools only, it does not require an institution of higher learning to accept the credit only the high school. You won't be able to force Duke. Bring the syllabus and examples of work to Duke and see if you can petition it, however, such school are pretty strict about what counts and what doesn't.

You'll be a given a placement exam for math anyway. It could place you higher or lower than the coursework you took. If you score higher you would essentially get that credit anyway.

What I care approximately is common training for little ones and kin help for females who're dealing with unplanned being pregnant. i do no longer want deliberate Parenthood coaching intercourse ed in extreme colleges. deliberate Parenthood coaching intercourse ed is not any different than McDonalds coaching nutrients. do no longer stay your existence in accordance with what regulation says is ideal. Get the info and counsel for your self then come to a decision. coach your little ones and kin based on your person ethical ideals no longer what Obama says is authentic.
