Are you serious???? The local channel has like 2 cameras and ESPN has about 10 or 15. Also, the local announcers are wanna-be's and it makes me sick listening to them. They sound like such idiots because they try to sound the REAL announcers on ESPN.

I would much rather watch the local broadcasts, but I have been spoiled by watching games on my local station, WGN, for years. WGN actually pioneered a lot of the techniques that you see the networks using now, most notably the center field camera. They use as many cameras as the networks, and seem to get the best talent behind the scenes. As for the announcers on ESPN, I like the way Miller calls a game, but can't stand Joe Morgan. You would think they way he talks he hit 1.000 for his career and never made an error. The other one that drives me nuts is Tim McCarver on Fox, and he's made worse by having to listen to the incredible bad Joe Buck. ESPN also has a tendency to focus too much on the East Coast teams. The Yankees and Red Sox are a great rivalry, but if you looked at Sunday Night Baseball over the course of a season, you almost would feel like these two teams play each other every Sunday Night. At least with the local broadcast. I can watch a team I actually give a rat's *** about.

I would rather watch them on FSN North than ESPN. I can not stand the ESPN guys, they don't know how to announce at all. Dick and Bert are hilarious to listen to also. Sure they are a bit biased, but that's alright since I'm a Twins fan, and Bert was a Twin, so of course he would be, too. They make games interesting and fun, even if the Twins are stinking that day. They also really get into the games. It is pretty funny when something big happens and they get really excited. The ESPN announcers barely say anything nice about the Twins when we are playing on ESPN that game, so I just turn it on mute, and turn on the radio so I can listen to John Gordon and the dazzleman, Dan Gladden. Thank goodness the Twins aren't a big named team so they don't have alot of games on ESPN, or I might just have gone crazy.

I'm a big time Boston Red Sox fan. The crew on ESPN tends to be annoying and not a informed about behind the scenes info as NESN (New England Sports Network). I live in Rhode Island appreciate Jerry Remy's knowledge and analysis of the game from both a former players point of view and a commentators point of view.

Well, as a Royals fan I really don't have a choice because they're never on ESPN. IF I ever had the choice to watch the game on ESPN or the Royals Network, I would probably stick with RSTN. I mute the TV anyways and listen to the radio broadcast while I watch the game.

The local guys seem to have more depth and a true understanding of the home team which really gives the game life.
Meanwhile the ESPN guys just analyze and call the game at hand.
Depending on where you live the local coverage can be awesome.

I am a South Carolina fan, and everyone knows that the ESPN announcers hate the gamecocks! But I would rather watch it on ESPN because they have more cameras and also this year they will bad-mouth us before the game but we will win! We cam sooo close to a lot of good teams like say Florida!!!! We only lost by one point!! They predicted we would lose badly but we held our own!!! But I prefer ESPN. I like to see the corso predictions.

Oh my god, I so agree. I hate the announcers on ESPN, sometime they are talking about things and I am like "what?". If a game is not on NESN, I will turn the tv on, but sound down and then listen on the radio!

1) ESPN is an East Coast station. I do not watch it hardly at all because of this.
2) Their HD looks like crap. It is grainy compared to other stations.
3) My local announcers can at least pronounce the names of the players on my team and know the team history dating back to yesterday. ESPN announcers are lame here.
and...
4) ESPN does not show my teams unless they are playing New York, Boston, or Philly because ESPN only cares about the East Coast!

I can not stand to watch the Sox on ESPN. I much prefer Don Orsillo and the Remdawg! They are so funny and they really know the team so it makes it much more enjoyable. I am sure the team that the Sox are playing prefer ESPN though since they seem to not like the Sox and constantly make it seem like they are sliding down to second place tomorrow. It drives me nuts.

I've always liked national broadcasts better because the local announcers are biased. No one is going to say anything that will make me not like my team, so the more objective announcers do a better job of telling me what is going on down there. Presentation of stats is more objective, so if a member of the opposite team is doing something great I get that information. It's just better. Hometown guys sometimes embarrass me.
