Perhaps you should do a bit of research here. Bush did not pardon Libby. He commuted the jail term only. Libby still had to pay the fine ($250,000) and still has to serve the three years probation. He may also lose his license to practice law and his license to practice before the SCOTUS. He is currently appealing the jury verdict. If he loses on appeal he can still petition the President for a full pardon.

A pardon not only discharges the defendant from responsibility, it erases the entire incident from the record as if it never happened. This is similar to having a DUI or other Felony Conviction removed from one’s record.

Bush didn't Pardon him. Libby now has a fellony record and had to pay the $250,000 fine impossed. He merely commuted his having to spend time in jail - if he had been pardoned, his record would have been expunged and the fine would have been dismissed.

He did not pardon Libby. He only commuted the jail sentence. Libby still carries the conviction and has paid the 250 thousand dollar fine.

He should have pardoned, him, if you ask me.

He didn't pardon Libby. He only commuted the prison portion of the guilty verdict. He is still a convicted felon, and has a fine and loss of his profession. Yes, I think the prison time was excessive, considering Libby wasn't the one who did the crime.

Why do you keep referring to it as a pardon? It was far from it. He is still being punished. Just not going to jail.

Let me see.
Libby was convicted for perjury in an investigation that should have been complete the year before.
His sentence far exceeded the typical given out for perjury.
He has to pay a quarter million dollar fine, is a convicted felon on probation, his career, family and his name is ruined.
All for saying "I don't know" in a political witch hunt.
HE WAS NOT THE LEAK.

The president commuted his sentence. While Bush has done a lot of foolish things, this is not one of them.
This is a great thing, plain and simple.

He did right by himself.. and his form of mafia style politics. My apologies to the mafia.

But he did not do right by the American people or our standard of what is right and what is wrong in the world. What he did is something they would do in countries who are not democracies... i guess that is what he wants.. a dictatorship. how much easier for him.. then he could just show his true colours and get it over with.

All i can say, is Thank God, we are nearly done with him and if the American people have not learned a lesson from this crooked administration.. then there is no hope for us .. ever!!!
