No, Not really. Not if You know the reason for the use of the word, (Noun rather than Verb) and it's original meaning. It refers to His/Her traditional right under Old English Law to...."prosecute the Profession of Doctor of Medicine, Physician and Surgeon, and to practice same under Their Letters of Accreditation or Patent".
Ever wondered what We Nurses call Our job? We also " Practice" Nursing, and yet We do "Rounds".
Remember, "Practice makes Prefect", and a "Round" of drinks after work is a good way to relax.
Cheers.

That's a cute comment, but the truth is, there is more than one definition for the word practice. Yes it would be scary if they called what they did, "learning through repetition." But really they refer to practicing doctors to distinguish them from doctors who teach at medical school or work in labs.
Doctors who work with actual patients are practicing their degree, much like a devout minister who "practices" what he preaches.

No...it isn't scary. I'm glad they keep practicing. Better than being called "finished learning"

Only if you confuse (on purpose) different means of a word as a noun and as a verb.

Well, anytime we do anything it's like practice, you can never get enough of it. You can't get worse, you can only get better and better each time you do it.
