for me I was looking for the reasons from my past that had made me why I was the person I was at the time. I did not like many things about myself then. I had to figure out those things and realize the cause might not have been what i first imagined but something totally out of my control so I had to let go of those issues. I am referring to the relationship I have with my mother and How I had to forgive her because of her past she had no control of. I have worked very hard on breaking the circle of repetitious behaviors to be a better person. I have to stop before I act and honestly think do I want to be like mom. Sometime I do cause she was a great mom, but others I have to say no i don't and change my actions. Raising my daughter is going to be my biggest challenge in life and I only pray that she does not end up messed up in the head from it. So my answer in short is you look for the person you want to be and how to get yourself their.

I think a path to go down. I think they are looking for a purpose that will inspire and put them at some type of peace in their life.

If you are in a relationship with this individual, and this is their excuse for strange behavior, they are looking for a reason to separate.
If it is a single person who justifies recent behavior, they most likely are unsatisfied with their current life, and are searching for happiness.
