I thought it was funny. I grew up watching Married With Children and thought the shirt was hilarious. Unfortunately, my wife thinks it is degrading against women and means I don't love her??? What is your take on it? I still think she is being overly sensitive. I told her it was a joke and I would not wear it around her... Never thought a shirt would cause so much crap.

Sounds like that pussycat needs to shape up or shiply out! I think maybe when you tried to explain it to her she was mis- informed about its meaning maybe you accidently told her it was a anti-wife club and it rubbed her the wrong way...she sounds like maybe she can be immature at times and insecure (i'm sure at times you're no walk in the park yourself...hello!!!!!) and Im sure shes sorry for that, besides this right here is a big bashing of her and she isnt going to get mad at you for that because she can also be mature at times and let things go. Who knows maybe when you get home tonight she'll be sitting on the couch wearing that darned tee shirt with nothing on underneath! Oh wait maybe that will make you throw up...nevermind! So wear the shirt and dont worry about what her skinney butt thinks. She was just sad and is over it now and I'm sure she knows you love her, I mean c'mon whats not to love!!

Personally, to me, I don't see what's the problem....If the shirt just says "No Ma'am" what is that statement saying that makes it degrading to women?? It could mean anything....I think the word "Ma'am" is use in a foral way to address a woman...My cousin is in the military and when he comes home for visits that how he shows respect to his female relatives...I think if by wearing that t-shirt truly upset your wife then you should have a talk with her and find out why she feels the way she does....Maybe, it means something else to her that you don't see or understand...But, also reassure her that you didn;t mesn to hurt or disrespect her in any way....

She really needs to get a sense of humor. Unless you are doing other things to make her feel degraded and this is just icing on the cake, she is being overly sensitive. If you are doing other things, or there is someone else making her feel down, degraded etc., then I can maybe see that it is just fueling her fire regarding that situation.

She's probably upset because "Married with Children" made fun of wives and marriage all the time - in a real bad light. Sure it had its moments of being funny, but the overall message was kind of crappy if you ask me - made marriage out to be some sort of huge burden that all men have to deal with, and that all wives are lazy, naggy, and boring.
I would say though that she should know YOU and understand your intentions were not bad. If she knows that this is your sense of humor, she shouldn't be so offended and go as far as to say that you don't love her. She's taking it a wee bit too hard.

It is obvious that your wife has issues with herself because the shirt doesn't really apply anything. If every woman or man got mad at what was written on shirts, we would be a completely single society.
tell her you love her and then you make a decision on what is more important, the shirt or her.

tell her to have a bon bon and a smile and shut the heck up...jk, yeah she's being totally over sensitive, it's just a shirt, i love married w/ children, i've never seen anything on that show that degrades women, if anything, it's degrading to men, peg runs the show in that house, poor Al.

NO MA'AM stood for "National Organization of Men Against Amazonian Masterhood". I don't understand how your wife could be upset over something so obviously ridiculous. Sounds like she's trying to exert mastery over you!

Well, my first impression is that there are underlying reasons why the shirt bothers her...perhaps you have been ACTING like a member of No Ma'am....and the shirt just puts a name to it?

That's ridiculous! She's demonstrating the very behavior that "founded" No Ma'am! She's being controlling, insecure and unreasonable. She must be extremely insecure. Tell her to lighten up and tell you what the REAL problem is! Good luck and wear it proudly when she's off grumbling elsewhere!

That's too bad that she's making a big deal about a shirt. Tell her it does NOT mean you don't love her. If you show her respect, she should realize it's just a shirt and has no "hidden meaning" for you.
