I will rinse the crayfish with water for a bit then throw them in there.... They are about 1 inch long (Crayfish)

Ditto to the first poster. For so many reasons it's not a good idea without so much quarantine and preventative care that it becomes more trouble than it's worth to most people. Not saying it can't be done, just that to do so in a safe way would be a lot of work.

Hard to say without knowing what kind of parasites and bacteria are in the river. Simply rinsing won't get rid of the species of bacteria you want to avoid giving to a house fish.

If you're asking if it's a good idea? No it might kill your Oscars. Not necessarily because they ingest the crayfish, but once they are introduced into your tank the bacteria and other parasites with now be in your water and will grow and fester.

If they are that small..I'd be afraid..he'd swallow them whole and alive..and they would hurt the Oscar.
