I am looking into setting up a small business - anything from a market stall. Are there schemes which put people in touch with each other so they can set up initiatives together?

Just one place to go. www.smalltrader.com
OR get The Small Trader mag. (monthly) from W.H.S. It is full of gear at wholssale prices. No need for large bulk orders. Min. spend on most is £25. They cater for the small Market trader. There are tips on starting up - organisations to join. Even to supplying a market stall.
You will find it all there.
GOOD LUCK.

Try putting an ad in the evening standard or exchange and mart, you may find that a suitable partner is already advertising, be very careful though.
If you have a good bank manager they should be able to pass your business idea on to another of their clients. It wont hurt to ask and it's a safer way of doing business.
