trying to transfer a pic to somewhere else and it won't accept bit map image....is it easier to cut and paste, (not done that before though)

open the bmp file in paint, do a save as, and in the file type drop down box below the box for the filename, select jpg as the file format.

The easiest way to do this, using Windows, would be to open the Bitmap Image in Microsoft Paint and then saving it as a JPEG format in MS Paint also.

That is the easiest option without downloading/installing anything and 99% of XP computers will have it already installed.

If you are a designer or using it for commercial print purposes, you will need to use an application which allows you precise control over image compression and dimensions blah blah.

Get a free imaging package like GIMP which will convert almost any pic format to almost any other. It's a good editor too.

Dont use paint it will mess up the image

Install gtk and gimp http://www.gimp.org

Use gimp and save as jpg

Unless you have adobe photoshop then use photoshop

way too easy. open it and store it as 'jpg'. Than it's done !
