Each team will play 5 division rivals 14 times each and the other 2 division rivals 13 times each. Each team will play their oppsite division rivals 6 times each and will play 18 interleague games.

This worked before the Wild-Card was introduced in 1994. The only difference is that the top 2 teams in each division will make it to the playoffs.

Okay, how about this?
Relocate these teams:
Tampa Bay Devil Rays to Orlando to become the Orlando Wizards.

Florida Marlins to Charlotte, NC to become the Carolina Comets.

Well, baseball is America's favorite pastime right? Since we have the Red Sox and the White Sox, why not have a Blue Sox team?

Okay dude, you obviously are looking for someone to agree with you. You got it (wink-wink). There, are you satisfied?
Let's say that there were only two divisions in each League. Why do you need two expansion teams? There are still a couple teams that shouldn't be considered Major league now.
If, and this is a big IF... I would consider expansion, I'd go south of the border for one and maybe both. And don't forget how big baseball is in Cuba.

Louisville could use a team, but I wouldnt support putting an expansion team. Also, teams called the Carolina Comets and the Orlando Wizards would be trash. The Comets are not a name for a professional team, its a name for a little league soccer team, and the Wizards are a dumb name period.

The way they have it now works, and no offense, but youre trying to go against a proven system that everybody loves, except the Devil Rays and the second or third best teams in the AL East and Central.

No! First your have an unbalanced schedule, with some teams only playing teams from the same division 1 game less then the other division teams. How would you pick which teams get a pass on a divisional game like that? Next, baseball IS NOT READY to expand! There is not enough talented pitching now, let alone having to stock two new teams with 12 pitchers on each team! And that doesn't even get into stocking the new teams minor league teams.

first of all, baseball is unlikely to add 2 new teams at this time, and the last thing we need is ANOTHER small market team like portland.

Second of all, the reason that baseball divides the league into six divisions has something to do with time zone. According to your format chicago and los angeles, along with other california teams, are in same division....What time do you play the games?<>

Third, this will ruin good rivalries, because the yanks and sox will no longer be able to play 19 games every year

Georgie Porgie 2, why can't you just say it nicely like red4tribe? Why do you have to act like a punk to the guy?! I wish I could block your filth all together just so I could act like you don't exist.

Anyways, no the idea is not good. The league actually would fair better with contraction or relocation rather than expansion. MLB has it's hands full with 30 and you want to expand to 32? No way! I hate to say it but the D-Rays need to be relocated either to an area in Tampa or a more accessible and attractive area in St. Pete or if not then they must be shipped out elsewhere. The Marlins need to maybe go to Orlando or be shipped out elsewhere as well. The Nats are a mystery. Being in the nation's Capitol sounds all dandy but I don't think it's working. But I would still give it time to see how the new ownership works out.

the talent pool is already way too diluted to add anymore teams. Baseball should play the way that soccer is played overseas were if you suck for a few years in a row you get replaced by a team in the b series that has been winning for a few years. I hate watching a team rebuild and still suck and rebuild again at the pro level teams like the Royals that have sucked for so long but has a good history should rebuild with less competition and not play teams that matter and effect the outcome of a season.

1. Portland and Louisville probably can't support expansion teams.

2. 4 divisions maybe traditional and old school, but it is bad marketing. Too many teams fall out of contention too early and fans stop coming to games.

Current system is working because lots of teams are in it until the end. Look at Hockey and Basketball. Their playoffs have half the regular teams in them.

first thing is we don't need expansion teams... AGAIN... *looks at the D-Rays in particular*

second thing is if they were to expand they'd end up with the same divisions and playoff format as the NFL. not go back to divisions with 8 teams per division.

thirdly, get real with where you are putting the expansion teams if they were to go down that line. they'd go for another Mid-West team, Oklahoma maybe, and then and east coast or central team... such as Charlotte or Indianapolis...

fourthly... did i mention that ur idea stinks???

on and to finish... ur a pinhead! baseball needs to stay with 30 teams (costing) and everything is working out fine as it is...
i know we got the marlins maybe on the move but other than that MLB is fine as it is...

Your idea will always be bad when:
1) You have expansion teams
2) You move a central time zone team to a mostly West coast time zone (in this case - 3 teams). It is not fair for travel and time reasons.
3) You load interleague games into it. Get rid of them, or limit these supposed "Rivalry" games.

louisville, and portland wouldnt be able to support teams
portland has trouble supporting nba
the best cities for expansion teams would be memphis, indy, san antonio.

but they wont expand because they would need a bigger player pool

so if baseball in china pans out then they may add some more teams
