Shouldn't every team get a chance to be on ESPN?

because they get low ratings. No one likes them outside of Tampa

Like many of us said.. its all about the ratings. ESPN and FOX wouldn't waste their time with a losing franchise in a tiny market such as Tampa Bay/St. Petersburg. However if the D-Rays were like 5 games behind the Red Sox or Yankees in the Division race then maybe you'll see the D-Rays more on National TV.
But at the same time, the Milwaukee Brewers are in first place and 3 weeks ago, the Brewers made their first ever appearance on FOX Saturday Game of The Week against the Chicago Cubs and will make their first ever appearance on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball.

You are right. Every team should have a chance. Unfortunately, the Devil Rays are not that good, hence the reason for lack of air time from ESPN. I think a few years ago, they did have a game on Sunday Night (which they lost). Turn things around first down there in St. Pete and I promise you there will be no begging tor air time.

Just like everything else in the world, baseball is about money. ESPN selects teams that are winning or have a good rivalry for Sunday night baseball so they can increase ratings and in turn, increase advertising dollars. Not many people will tune in to watch the devil rays.

No...the sunday night game is reserved for the best game of that day. And since the Devil Rays have never fielded a competitive team the chances that they will be involved in a game that holds intrest to anyone is slim. Maybe if they were involved in a game where Bonds were to break the record....or someone was going for a historic record breaker or something.

No offense, but the Devil Rays kind of suck. ESPN is not about "every team getting a chance." They are about ratings. That is why you see so many Red Sox and Yankee games. Those games attract viewers! So long as your team is a last place team in a smaller market, they are not going to see much ESPN time. Sad, but true.

The Rangers play Sunday homestead video games at evening, fairly throughout the summer, as a concession against the North Texas warmth. it is been this way by fact that a minimum of 1990, while ESPN first solid the Sunday evening interest. The Rangers (in the event that they have been at homestead) have been the automated backup interest. i've got been to The Ballpark for the duration of extreme summer for the two day and evening video games. believe me, evening is a lot to be favorite.

They should, but Tampa Bay is a small franchise and no one would watch them that lives out of Tampa Bay.

E.S.P.N. only cares about their ratings so for Sunday Night baseball they usually have teams like the Yankees, Tigers, Mets, Indians, Phillies, Cardinals, ETC..

Because no one will watch.

How many people in Tampa and in this country want to watch Tampa.

Your Best Bet is to petition ESPN for Regional Night Games for the microscopic markets like Tampa and KC sorry.

ESPN puts games on TV that people want to watch. The folks that live in and around the Tampa/St Pete area don't even want to watch the Devil Rays. Do you think people in St Louis, Boston, Iowa, or anywhere west of the Mississippi would want to watch them?

If you do see them on TV it will be against the Yankees or somebody that has a huge national draw regardless of opposition.
