best way to clean inside of a propane grill?

You can use oven cleaner...Just spray and close the lid...following the instructions on the cleaner..

I use oven cleaner. I remove the grates, heat it up, cover the burner with aluminum foil and spray. Close the lid and let sit. Then scrub it out and rinse well. Don't forget to remove the foil after you are done.

Where they sell grill parts and accessories you'll find a very good cleaning spray. Just apply it, wait and rinse off.
