I am not all too excited about muffins either. I would rather have a bagel or danish. I do like cheese muffins though, but that is like eating cheesecake! LOL

My muffins are considered quick bread. One type I like to bake are bannana nut and the other is carrot pineapple. Not that unhealthy as far as sweet breakfast items go. Also good, though I don't make them that often are bran muffins and zuchinni nut.

good point about the cake similarities. the same then would be considered for donuts, and then even waffles and pancakes too. really anything baked with oil and butter and covered in sugar is like a desert for breakfast.

Im not crazy about them either. Too dry most of the time and too big to take polite bites out of. (Crumbs go everywhere) They are not healthy either, check out how many fat grams in just one.
