There were two other books that preceded the Maximum Ride books. They were, "Where the Wind Blows" and "The Lake House". The 2 books detailed the origins of the Angels and how they escaped.
I'm sure that Patterson will write a 4th and 5th and 6th etc etc...

It is possible. The third book has just been released. I've heard that there is a POSSIBLE 4th book, though James Patterson would have to finish writing it first!

I would like to read the ones I haven't read. I've only read the first one. Sorry for not actually answering your questiion. I just really liked that book and didn't even know there were more.
