Im eight months pregnant and I've recently started to have a guilty concience about my vitamins, I've been pretty good about taking them but b4 i got pregnant i had never been a good pill taker and sometimes i now forget to take my vitamins for days at a time. I seem to be in the habit of doing a 2wk on 1 wk off type of routine and i dont realize it until its already over. Is it going to affect my baby since i had a weird vitamin schedule? and didnt always take them?

Not taking your vitamins won't hurt your baby. Doctors advise taking them to try to make up for what you might be missing in your diet, but if you are eating well and getting a balanced diet then I would not be too concerned if you missed some vitamins.

I am VERY absentminded when I'm pregnant and I also forget my vitamins sometimes. Lots of women do so don't sweat it! Put them out on the countertop in plain view and you might be more likely to remember.

Not taking your vitamins won't necessarily hurt your baby although making sure you take them will surely help! If you are eating a balanced diet than you should be fine but some of the vitamins contained in the prenatals are hard to get by diet alone (i.e. folic acid). The way I remembered to take mine everyday was to put them beside the kitchen sink. That way I would see them when I fixed myself a glass of water first thing in the morning. Also, you could put them in the bathroom next to your toothbrush.

No, it won't hurt the baby the baby gets all it needs from what you eat. The vitamins help you to make sure you are still getting all that you need. Some women cannot take their pre natals at all because it makes them sick, and they do just fine. As long as you are eating a well balanced diet there should no cause for worries.

No, forgetting won't hurt your baby. Just try to think about what your eating during the day and make sure it's well balanced. Also, try keeping your vitamins close by so you're less likely to forget them. I keep them on my nightstand, and read every night before bed. I see them sitting there, and remember to take one.

it is best to take your vitamins everyday but as long as you are eating well and even taking them inconsistently is better than not taking them at all. And there are quite a few women who don't take them at all and have perfectly healthy babies and there are others who aren't quite so lucky.....try to put them somewhere where you will see them every day, like in the bathroom or in the fridge so when you are scrounging around for food you will see them! Congrats sweetie!

docs do prefer that you take a vitamin. it's best for baby. i always took mine at bedtime, so i wouldn't get upset stomach. kept them in the bathroom next to my face soap. baby should be fine though, we all get a bit absent-minded during pregnancy.

No, as long as your eating healthy you will be fine. But talk to your doctor about this.
