Why must you check BBT when you first wake up?

Is it okay to go to the bathroom first then check your temp? I had to pee this morning really bad so I went then checked my temp. It was up, but it should be time for me to ovulate also. So would that make it go up alot?

It can affect your temp but it shouldn't by more than a couple tenths of a degree. I would go ahead and record the temp and see if tomorrows temp is high as well.

Moving around, even a little bit can cause your BBT to rise. Getting up to use the restroom can, most certainly raise your BBT.
