It seems to me many people(not all)still can't believe the Indians have what it takes to get to the playoffs and make a run at it all.
Some say it's because they don't have experience. They don't have much experience in the playoffs but just two years ago they sufferd from having no experience getting swept by the White Sox ast the end of the season. During the offseason the Indians GM(Mark Shapiro) knew if they were going to make the playoffs and do well in it they needed some veterans on the team. So he went out and got David Dellucci and Trot Nixon.
If you don't believe the Indians are the real deal, and that rebuilding they did in 2002 is finally starting to pay off, please tell me why.

I believe the starting pitching will hold up. CC sand Carmona are a 1-2 punch and Byrd has been a nice surprise thus far. Lee and Westbrook have both spent time on the DL but they have combined for 168 wins since 2004 and a 4.20 ERA. They will both come around.

arrogant Tigers fans, are starting to act like Yankees fans as far as I'm concerned, they think the Twins are going to be tougher than the Indians??
Indians lead the Tigers 6-4 this year.
Fausto IS 11-4 and CC is 12-4 what about the pitching??
I think even though Borowski is a scary closer and m,akes me mad some times he gets the job done, lets compare closers Jones Vs. Borowski
Borowski
W-L ERA K Walks Saves
2-3 5.30 29 8 26
Todd Jones
W-L ERA K Walks Saves
1-4 5.06 21 15 23
Borowski has more saves, more strikeouts, less walks, and a better record, and his ERA is only a hair higher than Jones.

I don't doubt the bats, that's a damned potent lineup 1-9. But the pitching? CC is a stud, and Carmona has shown that he's a starter, but the rest of their rotation is living on borrowed time. At some point their pitching past 1-2 has to show up for an extended period of time.
Further, there schedule is significantly more troublesome down the road... no more Orioles and Blue Jays, a wicked 10 game road trip in September vs. the Twins, the Angels and White Sox and a lot of games with the Twins, in particular. If Paul Byrd stays strong, they've certainly got a good chance to be playing meaningful games in September, but like I said, a 10 game road trip to Minnesota and Anaheim in the middle of the playoff home stretch doesn't look that promising.
If Hafner heats up, and the rest of the team continues to rake, they're going to be in the battle for the division, and they have a lights out 8th inning guy and an off and on closer (remind you of anybody from last year?) They also have lots of games with KC, but honestly, do you think the starting pitching is going to hold up? I don't.

because there slowly sliding downhill. There not dominating like they were earlier in the series. The twin are making a run which is amazing considering how far back they were about a month ago. The Tigers are on fire right now also, they are hitting the ball a ton, and they are finally getting there pitching straightened out. Jim Leyland may be the best Manager in the MLB right now. lets see the farm system is second to none, just look how good andrew miller and mike rabaelo turned out. But i think pitching is the main thing Bondo and verlander are just nasty, not too mention kenny rogers just keeps getting better with age. and of course the talented Mr. Miller
But Once fernando rodney and joel zumaya come back they will almost be unstoppable. I dont want to be an indian fan on that day.
i like Grady i think hes good but, man there pitchingt isnt that good.

Many thought and still think that the tribes pitching staff would not be able to do this well for this long.
Well they were wrong. Not only has the itching staff held their own their hitting has been great this year in come from behind wins of big margins.
People need to see that this is a good young team and as long as they are healthy they will continue to do well.

There should be no doubt in the minds of the true baseball fan, the Indians are solid this year. I would look for both the Tigers and Indians to make the playoffs.

I, for one, do NOT doubt The Indians.
I know they have what it takes to make it to October, I just hope not as the division winner. I'd like for them to be the wild card, and then Detroit & Cleveland could battle it out in the ALCS.
I'd rather face Cleveland in the ALCS then The Twins. The Twins would be very hard to beat.

I think the will win the Wild Card, but I don't think they have the pitching to beat the Tigers in the playoffs.

People still doubt Indians because back in the 16 or 1700's, they sold Manhattan island in New York for about $24.
