She thinks there are better opportunities out there which you are not seeking.
She thinks that. Could be true, could be not.
Or simply, she's becoming interested in careers different than what you're doing (Maybe one of the neighbors' is showing off her son or daughter's job).

One of my best friends is a Captain with the fire department and she's been a firefighter now for almost 20 year and guess what? Her mom still worries! But then again she's a mom and that's what mom's do. If you feel that fighting fires is your calling, share that with your mom!

Maybe she ready for you to leave the nest. ( joking). To better yourself or find a safe job. I worked underground in the coal mines for 23 years, and I know my mother would have liked for me to get a different job. I liked my job underground!

She probably just wants whats best for you and maybe you don't know any better. She's been around the block a few more times than you have. Just try taking her advice.
