I watched a lot of movies about babies (Look Who's Talking, Three Men and a Baby, Fatherhood, etc.) and read books.

I also joined some pregnancy forums and chat rooms online to talk about babies.

Have fun with it and stay busy!

You are not alone in your worrying, every pregnant woman has these concerns and worry's. The degree of worrying varies per person and experience but everyone worry's. If you are obsessing about it call your doctor and tell him you are having serious concerns and have him go over all the risks and why they are risks. Then have him explain things to avoid and not to do to eliviate the risks somewhat. It cant hurt to be careful. Get a bunch of parenting books, while they are no way 100% accurate and only experience really teachs you what you need for your individual baby, it will give you a start and some pointers. Also start making a scrapbook for the baby. Include news clippings during your pregnacy so you can later reflect the top stories during the time. Have people write little notes to the baby and put in little envelopes and glue into the scrapbook. Learn to knit or crochet and make the baby a blanket. Good luck!

mothers/moms to be are always concern something bad may go wrong. It's normal! I am 27 weeks pregnant and haven't got anything done for the baby yet. I've been impatiently waiting. I only bought a play yard crib and the travel system and that's it. But I havent set up the play yard yet although I am very tempted to. I can't wait til my BF buy the baby the crib and start setting it up. I am close to due date but I don't find anything that will make time pass by faster. I wish there was because 12 weeks is a long time from today. Enjoy your pregnancy and hope everything will go well

First off... is there some founded reason you're thinking like this? Family trouble with pregnancy or troubles yourself? Or is it you first child and you're nervous? Find out where these feelings are coming from so that you know why you're thinking these things. That will help with avoiding them.

Secondly, keep your mind going on the good thing. Name? Your doctor's appointments? Whether or not you want to know the gender... there are so many amazing things that come along with pregnancy.

My mom bought me a meditation book. (I suppose this only works if you're into that sort of thing) But it's been super helpful. It's a bit out there... but every week I get a little passage, and small, one or two things, list of things I can do to help the baby along...

If I did the math right and we're going by the same "end of the first trimester" you should be about 11 weeks along right now... so...

Since the eyes will be developing soon... it says to eat plenty of green leafy vegetables, yellow veggies, and fruit. Also to enhance the immune system. And not to forget the prenant vitamins.

It also says to close your eyes and imagine what he or she will look like, and what wonderful things they'll see in their lifetime with the eyes they are making now.

See - a bit out there but relaxing. If you haven't had trouble with a pregnancy prior to this... then I would just relax and enjoy it. (If the symptoms aren't too bad) It goes by so fast. I remember finding out like it was yesterday... and now I've only got 2 months until she's here. *panic*

Anyway, congrats! And good luck!

I had the same worries when I was in my 1st trimester b/c I had a miscarriage this past August. What I did/do to take my mind off all of the negativity was watch the Birth channels (always fun), talk about/plan the baby shower.. I currently go to a Pregnancy class (2nd time) to learn about pregnancies, babies and win prizes for the baby, and I work. As long as your doctor tells you that you are OK you have nothing to worry about! Good luck!

I swear I thought I was going to be pregnant FOREVER!!! lol but it went a lot faster than I thought.... I was buyin things at 8 weeks pregnant. I never once thought that there was a chance I could miscarry... i guess the thought never even entered my mind... Just go on with your life like you normally would. Of course you're pregnant now.. but don't think about the trimester thing. Watch TLC and discovery health... those my fav channels to watch while I was pregnant because they have so much baby stuff on them.. Good Luck

The best thing is for you to stay busy. The busier you are the less you will think about the negative. Talk yourself into thinking that everything will be great. You are almost there anyway, and there have been people who have delivered 2 months early and the baby was just fine. Stop worrying so much. Everything will be just fine. Enjoy your pregnancy while you can, because it will soon end. Best of Wishes!!!

I feel for you. This is the longest time during pregnancy. I read to help keep me informed, which also eased some of my worries. I read "Your Pregnancy, Week by Week", by Glade B. Curtis. Also, for some lighthearted reading, yet still informative, "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" by Vicki Iovine. Hang in there and best wishes.

I am working right now, so I am busy a lot. But, when I am at home, during week-end... I read a lot, I chat with my friends, I listen music. I watch movies - with or without babies :). Anything I'm in the mood to do it, just to keep me busy - intelectual busy, I mean.

But please try not to worry too much because it's not good for you or for your baby.
