I don't have periods right now because I have recently got off Depo Provera (only had 1 shot), so if I was pregnant I wouldn't know. I seem to have a lot of the symptoms...

How many days after conception is it until implantation takes place? How soon after that should I test for pregnancy to get the best results?

Implantation bleeding will occur 6 to 12 days after ovulation. It will consist of a small amount of pink or brown spotting or discharge. Only about a third of the women experience it.

I still would not recommend taking a pregnancy test until you have missed a period. Most over the counter pregnancy tests are not as sensitve as they claim to be so are extremely likely to give you a negative result until a day or two before your period is due. Once you wait that long, you may as well wait until you have missed your period.

Now, if you are going to have your doctor order a blood test, then you can test ten days after ovulation. However, some females will still get a false positive if they have a slow rising HCG hormone.

So, for best results, it is best to wait until you miss your period. Good luck!
