It is a black floor lamp with a white shade, and a high intensity bulb. It just stands there. If I were Fred Astaire, I would teach it how to dance.

Whoa....I really never noticed this before.....theres two lamps on the desk and even though I obviously bought them both....they're both silver bases with like cranberry colored lamp shades.....I never even realized this until I read your question and really looked at them.....I know I bought them at seperate times too.....serious blonde moment.....(one has a solid cranberry shade and the other is a cranberry plaid pattern)

it's a new lamp made to look old, the base is metal but it's made to look antiqued, so it kind of looks dirty. the (shade) is a glass pale pink half ball with white and clear beads dangling from the end of the shade.
