I'm currently taking Microgynon 30, which i've been on for around two years. Lately i've been quite bad with taking it, I missed one tablet 3-4 weeks ago and took two the next day, and recently i've picked up a bad habit of taking them late in the day aswell. I have had a breakthrough bleed and i'm now halfway through another pack but i'm really worried I might be pregnant, due to the fact that i'm really bloated, spotty, feel nauseous in the mornings, headaches all the time etc. Please help!

If you think you might be pregnant, you should stop taking the microgynon immediately!

You are right that if you missed tablets or did not evenly space the doses, there is a small chance you could be pregnant.

Only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test. If you had a breakthrough bleed, that suggests the pill wasn't giving you protection, and if you had unprotected sex since then, there is a chance you could be pregnant. The symptoms don't mean a thing, with any pregnancy, some women will have loads of symptoms, some none. Take a test, and it it is negative, be very thankful, and a lot more careful about taking the pill. If it is positive, then you have some hard decisions to make, but the sooner you know, the sooner you can decide what course of action to take.

You know, even though my sister fell pregnant on the pill (she was taking antibiotics) it`s actually pretty rare. Just look at the questions from women who have just come off, and are trying to conceive now. It can take months for your periods to regulate. I`ve been having unprotected sex for two and a half months now since coming off the pill and I`m not pregnant so far! So, probably you don`t need to worry too much. However, you need to take a pregnancy test to be sure.

It could be that you are pregnant but also might just be that by tampering with the way that you take your pills has had an effect on your hormones. I would take a test to be sure. Goodluck

Don't stop immediately without abstinence. Wait until you are regular and get your period and take them or see your Dr. He can do a blood test. You could be pregnant and you need to stay regular on your meds.
