I love that old song!
But I think fuel prices are immune to the laws of gravity....

Well, I think so. Invariably things have to get better after the prices get so high that people refuse to buy gas. They'd HAVE to lower them. Supply and demand and the consequences seem to be connected to Newton's laws of gravity, no?

Yep it is true, except for fuel prices I think they will keep on climbing.
