I'm assuming that the right wing=religious (xian), family-oriented, middle class, largely white people, as represented by people like Limbaugh and O'Reilly. Those people who are almost fanatical in their superiority over the rest of the world, the people who defend their views with vigour and political backing. I think someone could find data to illustrate commonalities among these types of people: that they are wealthy, they are within a certain age range, and have a lesser amount of education when compared to the national average. This could be a stereotype, but I'm sure data would support this--not that it matters, really.
I once heard Jerry Falwell call feminism evil, using bible passages to prove his point. Feminism is not a good thing for these people. If women start fighting back in places that depend on their subservience (say, in Utah?) there are problems, and the man no longer controls his universe. And yes, this must be stopped. If this gets out of control, women will no longer need men for anything--literally. There is a lot of sperm frozen around the world...I'm just saying....
"Prejudices, it is well known, are most difficult to eradicate from the heart whose soil has never been loosened or fertilized by education. They grow there, firm as weeds among stones."--Charlotte Bronte

properly feminists in listed right here are often established and solid people who're extreme with regard to the objective of criminal and social equality and luxuriate in discussing it. Did I say we are established solid human beings? :) maximum anti-feminists in right here i think of have subject concerns and an suggestions-set. some are truthful. and a few human beings are basically fool trolls yet some human beings quite have a super sort of anger. some human beings talk like they think of they're on some challenge to ***** approximately feminists on line. So there is not any actual suprise that some anti-feminists aim feminists who're energetic in right here and freespoken. Or that they are nasty and against females. it is user-friendly to do on line and that i think of they prefer how they could do it right here anon and not have the outcomes they could get in the event that they dare try it IRL. i do no longer accept as true with Tera that they are youngsters performing stupid by fact they prefer some one. it is an element of their way of attacking females. the two as trolls attempting to get interest (and succeeding) or as sick bitter offended human beings.

Word to the wise: you are trafficking in stereotypes, and attempting to justify said stereotype.
Anti-feminists are far and wide, and come from many different view points. While SOME adhere to the ideology of the traditionalist, which could correlate to right-wing conservatism, many critics of feminism come from those who feel feminism has fallen out of whack so to speak since the late 60's prior to extreme radicalism, that modern feminist practices are hypocritical rhetoric that favor women, not equality, which based on the critical analysis of a current social construct & the desire to reform the current policy to create neutrality, this viewpoint would be inherently liberal.
Check out this question i asked a while ago to anti-feminists about their viewpoints

Never read the book.
But seriously, some of you ladies need to stand up for yourself and OTHER ladies as females in general.
Maybe try switching to a religion that doesnt hate women. That might help.
For the guys who are like ugh female rights, seriously, we should have taken the rights away from her to give birth to you ungrateful bastard.
Ultra tradition/conservative people are by defualt against female rights. Because traditionally, women didnt have as much rights, and traditionally, we were a lot less educated and alot more narrow minded.
If they want to stick with tradition, thats their right, but the rest of us would like to move on to the year 2007.
They use our TVs, computers, high tech stuff, all the goodies that "advancement" has brought them, but they wont move their retarded brains up to par.
Technology is advancing, isnt it time we moved along?
Female leaders have existed all over the world, even thousands of years ago, in era where females had less rights than today. Are this countries females so much more retarded than those from other countries?
You think all male in power country is so macho, but you dont know how other people are laughing at you.

Not necessarily, but Faludi is correct when she says that the Right has been instrumental in the backlash. The Left, meanwhile (if you read deeper into chapter 10), has stood back and watched a good deal of the time.

Not necessarily from the right wing. In his book the "DaVinci Code" Dan Brown uses the Gospel of Thomas as a "source" of facts. In the Gospel of Thomas however there are several passages stating that women are not worthy of life. And since "Ultra-right-wing individuals" prefer not to give credence to the Gospel of Thomas as it has little or no historical proof or reliability (The four gospels contained in the King James as well as the other 23 books of the New Testament in the King James were recognized by local churches long before the council of Nicea) I would say the greatest threat to femminism comes from liberals not conservatives. As to the claim that there is a rising pressure to reverse women's quest for equality, there are many in the women's movement who can't accept that many women would prefer to be stay at home wives and mothers when possible. They say that they are for women's choice but apparently only when that choice is to work outside the home. I realize many women are either single moms or cannot afford to stay at home all the time and respect them. (My mom has had to work in the professional workplace since my Dad died and even before that they both worked.)

Being one who is both anti-feminist and at the same time both apolitical and agnostic, I don't think so.
I maintain both left and right views, depending on the subject but typically, I prefer to choose the correct approach to solve whatever problem rather than a political or religious one.
Not all books are based in fact, in fact, few are little more than fanciful blogs of the author and therefore based in prejudice.

Yes, most of them are ultra-right wing, but as with most categorizations of people, there are lots of exceptions. Some anti-feminists are actually quite moderate or even liberal. Some ultra-right wing individuals don't care about the feminism issue at all. Generally speaking, Faludi is correct in her assumptions, but it is not likely that the anti-feminism movement will ever fully succeed. They can only slow down the inevitable. Once you give a group of people a taste of freedom, they will not give it up lightly.

Ultra-right-wing individuals are very fascist. Yes, I would believe so.
Those who want to squash the progression/attempt of moving forward of others are fascist, ultra-right-wing, nazi, hateful...
Feminism, to them falls in the same category as blacks, Mexicans, Native Americans, poor people, invalids, seniors, etc. To attempt to put pressure or to halt, and even reverse such quests for equality is expressing hatred on such groups and taking away the right to "freedom of speech"... Enforcing hate upon groups...
I would agree with Susana Faludi.

In my opinion yes. Ultra-conservatism is always driven by religion and religions have had a tendency to breed misogany. Here in the U.S. the conservatives are always preaching about the breakdown of the American family and suggesting that households cannot maintain without a male authoritarian figure. One of their main objectives obviously is to put women back in kitchens.
