because most people that ride HD's are conformists!! yeah, that's right!! I said it. Most of them won't even wave back at other riders, like the most of us gentile people do. Too tough for this world that they have to put Harley-Davidson on almost everything they own. Look out!! Here comes a "bar and shield"!! A bunch of crap if you ask me. Trust me, I've owned 2 Harleys in my day, and they were the worst investments of my life!!

Most of the people you will see on motorcycles, young and old alike, ride because they love to ride. It's been in their blood from a young age, and there is no cure for it either, save to ride some more.
What will you be doing when you are in your 40-50 year range and how will it be perceived by the younger people who are watching you?

14 huh, I'll be more impressed if your still asking that Q when YOU are 40 or 50 . Obviously you, your family and friends have too much idle time on your hands, don't have much of a life that you gotta be thinking what every one else is thinking.
Maybe open up a physic hot line to occupy your time.
Fair weather and good times on that Russian run NICK!

I'm 40, I ride, and have been since I was 15.
What's your beef?
What's the age cut-off to ride a motorcycle? I have a Harley,Triumph, Yamaha Venture, and a CBR954RR. And yes, I think I'm pretty cool.
So, I ask again, what makes you so superior? What makes you the decider of what is cool and what isn't? Who put you in charge of what everyone else should think and do?

The uniform worn by some motorbike riders is supposed to be non-conformist but of course if they all wear it it becomes 'conforming'.
If you really need an answer to this, next time you pluck up the courage to leave your Xbox for 5 minutes and actually go outside just ask one...

I am 47, have been riding and building Harleys since I was 17. Don't really care if you or anyone else thinks I am "cool" or not. I ride and dress for me , which is usually comfortable and appropriate for the weather.
If you really think that people do what they do to impress you, I would advise you to take a step back from yourself and re-evaluate your place in the cosmos.....

I'm 58 years old. I bought my first bike in 1969 and have been riding ever since. Do the math and that's 38 years in the wind. You have a problem with that? If I choose to ride in leathers or a teeny yellow bikini it's nobody's business but my own. It's my choice if I want to wear a doo rag or a helmet or nothing at all. Am I cool? You're damned right I'm cool...whether I'm on the bike...in my car...or lounging around the house on a Sunday afternoon. You on the other hand I'm not so sure about.

well , i am an 47 y/o female that just got a motorcycle and i am having a blast , it is an outlet that lets you be free , i do wear a bandanna under the helmet but no chains or harley stuff . we baby boomers are reinventing retirement and the stigma of aging , we are never too old to learn or go after our dreams . yea we think we are cool because we are, we have raised a family , held down a job ,, now it is our turn to burn up the road and see what is out there !!

It seems you picked an apt screen name. It appears all you want is a fight.
Why do you or your family have against people on motorcycles?
Are you in your 40's or 50's? If you are do you have any fun? If not it is your own da mn fault. Or are you in your twenties, and thinking old people shouldn't be on bikes. I guess my 60 year father on his Goldwing, no bandanna or HD stuff, should just lay down and die?

First of all your picture tells a lot about you "fight me"
Second of all you must not be a biker because if you were you would not have to ask this question you would know what it is all about. So, my advise to you is to get on a bike fuly time or go home you car person.
