Because for some people, it can be. In a small percentage of the human population, it can cause a mental problem which then leads to wanting to use stronger drugs. But a larger small percentage of the human population has the same problem with alcohol. And a similarly large percentage has a problem with tobacco.

When you combine MJ and Alcohol, a larger percentage than you would expect combining the two can cause these problems. Same if you combine Tobacco and Alcohol or all three. In each scenario a larger than expected percentage of people can develop mental problems that can lead to greater drug use.

The percentage of those using MJ wanting stronger drugs is about 3 percent, alcohol about 5 percent, tobacco about 4 percent, MJ and alcohol about 12 percent, and so on.

If you are one of the lucky ones who doesn't have a problem, good for you. But the powers that be want to protect the most people for the least expenditure, and if they outlawed alcohol, they would have an uprising on their hands.

So you have to pay for the follies of a few.

Yes if they wanted to be fair, they would outlaw Alcohol and Tobacco first, but when the USFDA was getting set up, they made an agreement with Coke-Cola to outlaw cocaine and heroin, (while leaving other alkaloids in their drink). They targeted MJ the same time they targeted alcohol (Prohibition) but when they repealed Prohibition, they didn't repeal the anti MJ laws.

I think Tobacco will be next to be outlawed, and while drinking a moderate amount of alcohol can be good for you, I think that will come soon after, again.

Genetics and personality play a big part in it!

Go sit in on a few NA meetings and listen to how they got started, and how many of their friends are dead.

Take a couple hits of crack. That is instant addiction.

Weed is a gateway drug, and if you really want to come down to it, so is alcohol, but not like marijuana!! Booze is a depressant! You may not know what you are doing when you black out, but neither do you when you take a leap off a 12 story building because you think you are Superman!

And then you can't afford it so you start stealing from all of us or start selling to 9 year-olds!

You can believe what you want! But I don't buy It one little bit!

just because it isn't happening now, doesnt mean it wont later. Why don't you just not smoke either way its not smart, if your a regular user eventually your body will adjust to it, and require more and more to get the same fix, this is why its called a gateway drug a heavily addictive high, that isnt as powerful as the bigger drugs, once you develop tolerance youll look elswhere.

I think the thing is that people who smoke that will be most likely exposed to other drugs and then they have the choice to use or not. a lot of people go from smoking pot to other stuff. you will soon find out. maybe you only do that right now but lets see you in 10 years from now. good luck.
