Hi,
We have a big garden and when we first moved here I decided to grow my own vegetables. It was great fun and I spent hours in the garden nurturing my plants but we have fields and woods on all sides of us and it wasn't long before I realised that I was feeding all the wildlife. We could have put a sign out for the rabbits 'banquet this way'.
Still, it was great watching them munch their way through all my veggies.
Now it is all grassed over and we're concentrating on enlarging our pond. A couple of weeks ago my son came to visit and he and my son-in-law-to-be started digging ... and digging ... and digging.
Our pond is now twice its original size and all the family have added more fish. We're now planning on putting a bridge over it and some decking and it's great fun. A long-term project I'm sure. We've added loads of plants to the pond and will be planting around it. But no I haven't got a garden growing but the pond's getting bigger.

a little one. I gave up on planting tulips because the deer thought I was running a snack bar! ;)

Yes, I do! I have a bunch of Hostas, Lilies, Gladiolus, Caladiums, and a couple of Rose bushes.

My garden can manage on it's own in winter and in summer I must water more.

I have the tomatoes and cukes growing..
That's it this year.. Nothing like a Jersey Tomato.
