I think it is always nice to get some photo frames and decorate them with your kid - beads, glitter, letters, etc. Use your digital camera to take a picture of your kid and the other kid and voila instant gift that they will keep forever, and probably put in their living room!

Something simple that they can play with when they go home. Most of the little toys you receive in gift bags are junk and end up breaking or falling apart within 5 minutes of use!

Here's a cute idea and cheap too!

if you mean party favors, I would say stick with the theme of the party. Get something along the lines of that. If not, it depends on the age or size of the group. Avoid candy and cheap novelty toys that are just clutter...parents dont apprecaite that. If its a samll group a gift card with about 10 dollars on it is good for somewhere like target or toys r us. For larger groups try getting lotion or something like that

A little cloth sash with candy, mints, gum, tie it off with pretty ribbon. If the party is for a girl, instead of sweets, fill the sash with mini lip gloss, make-up samples. If the party is for a little boy, fill the sash with micro cars or whatever is age appropriate. Try looking in the dollar stores and look for different items that are again age appropriate.

i suggest just plain old-gift bags. i always end-up havin fun with my daughter finding neat but small-sized toys to put in them and the other children love it cause they get a few toys AND candy. And both is always better to them lol my kids dont care about the size or price of each item but the amount they get as all parents know children have no concept of money this is where IN pays off our favor
