I silently endure...but it drives my guy crazy if I don't open up about it so I'm trying to be more "up front" about it

Both and it depends on where I am, and what kind of pain. I noticed I have been hiding the emotional pain a lot. The physical pain I endure would be hidden, but I usually use it as a way of hiding the emotional...a distraction if you will. I use the physical as an excuse to be in a bad mood as well. I have become very aware of this lately...I am not proud of it.

There are times when I desperately need to vent about the physical or emotional pain that I'm going through...and I honestly don't think I would be able to endure it if I just kept it all in inside, and didn't have true friends to "complain" to about it.

Right now I'm enduring emotional pain silently, as usually. I don't have anyone to share this with.

I endure it and don't complain (physical). Emotional pain is the worst.

A study revealed that girls can make their emotional pain worse by having friends with which to commiserate. Some sort of co-misery-propagation and a downward spiral together sort of thing. I don't think it's much different from physical pain. The moment I stopped speaking of mine, reminding myself of the constant presence of bone pain (look up bone pain, it's a difficult pain to ignore but one can....), I noticed it less, and less, and less until I am sometimes completely unaware of it. So I'd say silently NOT suffering through it. Eventually.

I complain about physical pain sometimes, but I usually keep emotional pain to myself.

Emotional pain I generally keep buttoned up, although I am learning that opening up about that to my husband goes with the territory. That actually helps.
Physical pain, I am pretty tough about; although, when I had a cesarean in November, it was impossible to tough that out. My poor husband had such guilt about that...
