Zeus is as real as you believe he is. The Greek Gods are not really worshiped any more these days. And thats what makes it a myth now. There is no law saying that you can or cannot believe what you want to believe.

It's does Zeus really exist and that all depends on your beliefs.

You can ask alot of mythical questions about what really existed, and it all depends on what you believe. If you believe that when lightening hit the earth was from space or a big mountain then I guess you would believe in Zeus. Zeus Was the father of all the Greek gods. If your belief was multiple gods then OK but if your belief is in one g-d only then you would not believe in Zeus......

What I am getting at is this... Believe what is in your heart and not what is in the heart of others

The Christian Bible (whether they realize it or not) answers that question. In the Hebrew text, in Genesis it says Gods (plural) at one point. Also, consider the 10 comandments. Thou shalt not have any Gods before me. This implies there are others. I, as a pagan, sincerely believe there is more than just the Christian god.

Just because something is a myth doesn't mean it's not true.

As for Zeus, I don't know if he exists or not (that's not my religion; I worship the Norse gods and goddesses), but feel free to talk to him yourself and see if you can develop a relationship with him.

Zeus is as real as any other deity, e.g. Moses' god Yahweh (God to English Christians, Dieu in France, Dios in Spain, Gott in Germany, Kami in Japan, etc.), Brahma the Hindu creator, Allah of Islam, Ahuramazda of Persian Zoroastrianism, Amon of Upper Egypt, Ra of Lower Egypt, Marduk the Babylonian creator, Yu Ti of China, etc. In other words, all gods are imaginary. Myths are tales about gods that people believe or believed are/were true. Each religion may say that its myths are true, but other religions' myths are not. Actually, none are true.

The Greek gods and goddesses are personifications of the natural necessities. They "exist" inasmuch as those natural necessities exists. Do the natural necessities have personality, intellect and will as the ancient Greeks conceived? That is where modernity differs from ancient conceptions of the world. Moderns acknowledge the existence of the natural necessities of life, but we think of them as essentially inert and lifeless. Such things are not living gods, but indifferent natural processes.

Why of course he does--together with Hera, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hermes, Athena, Ares, Artemis, and all the Greek/ Roman gods and goddesses! And if you're a good boy, you can join them! And if you're bad, you'll be struck by Zeus's lightning bolts! So, be good and keep low during a lightning storm.
