let me get this straight. Politicians are corrupt so we should turn over the entire health care system to them (approx. 1/7th of the entire economy). Wouldn't that be akin to having the health care system run by the Department of Motor Vehicles?

If Moore would concentrate on making a "real" movie like Star Wars or Harry Potter, he would be able to buy many more Big Mac's to feed his fat butt.
All he does is make false one sided documentaries.
I'll give him this though. He can draw a crowd.
Check these out. If you're willing to watch a Michael Moore film, you should be open minded enough to watch these as well. Unless it goes against your agenda.

In one of those films a girl that brings home $2500 a month and pays minimal taxes because she works in the "service industry" says her monthly bills for rent, car, etc. runs around $600. It was pointed out to her that health insurance for her, being a single young female non-smoker, for good coverage would cost her around $96 a month.
She said she doesn't need insurance right now. She said she feels that health care should be taken care of by the government, that she doesn't want to pay for it.
She also was asked if she had ever been to an emergency room before. She said yes after a car wreck. They guy asks her what the bill was. She said she didn't know because she didn't bother to pay it.
There's a good example of your un-insured.

There is little doubt that we have a corrupt health care system and politicians. That's something that can't be disputed and certainly didn't need to be proved through a Moore documentary.
What concerns me more than anything, is turning our health care system over to our Federal government, a government, filled with corruption and waste. People that I don't trust.
As far as using other countries as examples, Canada is surely one of the worst. Other countries that people love to cite are those who are small enough to maintain control over expenditures, unlike what we experience here in the U.S.

It has been pointed out by award winning documentary makers that Michael Moore doesn't make documentaries. He does not investigate anything that doesn't prove his point, and he twists and misquotes the facts he does present. I think Sicko should have been his biography. Of course, it wouldn't been any more accurate than his other movies. As to it being #9 speaks to how many people, both the left and right, aren't interested in finding the truth. They simply want validation of beliefs they formed based on emotion.

Sicko was made by Whacko. A movie is entertainment. Moore knows how to get people into movie theaters. He doesn't bother with facts.
We have always had corrupt politicians.
I don't understand your term "corrupt health care." That cannot exist.

We have corrupt health care now? LOL... I'll go along with an out of control insurance industry, but not the health care professionals.

"sicko" is documentary true, but it hits on your conscience and emotions. Its sort of the moment of clarity that happens when you watch the film. Michael Moore lets the many victims of the corrupt american healthcare system tell the stories. It is really a deep and emotional documentary. I encourage everyone to see it.

I hope so!
I have insurance and I'm scared to get sick. I can't even afford for me and my family to go to the doctor everytime we need it. (I also had to turn down a pet insurance plan for the vet's office because I can't pay for it. thus my pups better not get sick either)
