that the stars that have been given to a question persuade you to star it?
I mean may be the question isn't that interesting but because you see it has some stars you get interested and star it.

Yeah! that seems to be unfair...the first one gets most of the votes.
About the stars, I give a star to a question if I think it's worthy to get one. I mean, the question persuades me, not the other people who starred it! :)

The star thing..not sure. Voting for Best Answer has never been about who answers first with me. That's a lousy practice. If the 1st one happens to be the best then okay, otherwise it's just crap.

I don't star unless the question deserves it. AND when I vote best answer it is usually because it is most relevant to the question that I asked!! (Although I am not a big question asker!)
