The answer : 20 Kilograms of pork is

This is because "are" is used as a reference to objects or things which are more than 1. Since pork is only 1 entity when its weighed, it will be referenced as "is".

If 20 kilograms of pork is packed in 2 bag each of 10 Kiligrams, you will be saying, bags of 20 Kiligrams of pork are placed near the door.

If 20 kilograms of pork is packed in only 1 bag, it would be "20 Kilograms of pork is placed in a bag near the door".

Hope this helps.

You should say IS.
The 20 kilograms functions as a mass noun (It's still one chunk of pork), sort of like
The audience IS happy.

Are, of course! Plural of kilos.

In conjunction to the rest of the text and the intention of use of the pork. For cooking is is . For selling is are.

In this particular case, I believe the stress is on the kilos and not on the pork. Unless in your text is otherwise stated.

20 kilograms of pork IS.
since "is" is supposed to be used with a singular form of word....pork here is singularr exactly like:
A bouquest of flowers was found in the transh can..
notice how was is used instead of were, becoz here it is ONE bouquet ,therefore its singular.

hope it helped ! :)

Is is the correct answer, I think. I can't think of an instance where it would be are. EG 20K of pork is heavy or whatever!
