This so called friend of mine tries to copy me in whatever I do. From my favourite color, to the way I dress, my favourite music to the people I hang out with. I mean, doesn't she has her own identity?
She fakes herself to be like me in front of other people especially those I don't know but somehow a few of them got to know me and I discovered she was behaving like me in front of me. For instance, she tells me she likes R&B music but later to others, she said she loves Latin, which is my favorite. I mean, why is she pretending to be me in front others?
I hate it! I mean, it's my identity and what if people thinks I am copying her instead of she's the one copying me??? How to I get rid of this whole copy-cat thing from her?

Well, as they say, "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery." However, I can understand your being a little put off by your friend's behavior. Talk to her, but remember the original always out shines the copy. Now you know how celebrities feel. :)

The same way you just explained it to us only say it quicker and nicer. The truth is usually the shortest route. You can't Make anybody do anything. Tell her to stop copying you. she will swear she's not doing that and then she'll think about it and stop.

I have a "SO CALLED FREIND" like that to,and I'm 36 for crying out loud.
I know EXACTLY how you feel.
I have been dealing with this for 2 years and it does NOT get any easier.
She was a once shy old fashioned girl and a little mean spirited,but now she acts like me ,all bubbly ,happy and nice.
IT MAKES ME SICK!
I would be here forever telling you what she has copied me with.

Introduce her to someone you think might have a better ability at some of the skills you possess, and then, reduce the occasion she will have to be in your social group.

she actually just wanted attention from people;
and instead being mad, you should actually be happy, because she thinks that you are 'cool'!! and that she really admires you!
if it really annoys you, tell her that her actions are quite annoying...
but the best solution i could offer to you is by becoming her friend! i know she will appreciates it...
i mean, HEY! she IDOLIZED you!!! like the way you idolized a superstar or a model! ; )

I know it's annoying, but just go with it. She wants to be like you because she likes you.
Throw her off, suddenly go goth. She how far she is willing to take this whole thing.

well it seems to me that you have a problem, either solve it, or get rid of it. to solve it, you need to sit down with her and talk about why is she doing it. if you already done that and it didn't work , then you need to get rid of your problem, just tell your friends what shes doin to you and why you wanna stop talking to her "just to cover your back", and get rid of her. problem solved.
