Ohay, I just did a little research and the coffee bean is actually the stone of a fruit. Because the plant that it comes from is not a legume it is technically a seed not a bean.

A coffee bean is the seed of the coffee plant (the pit inside the red or purple fruit). The fruits, coffee cherries or coffee berries, most commonly contain two stones with their flat sides together.

they are misnamed as 'beans' because of the fact they kinda look like beans, yet they are the fruit of a tree. Technically, beans are 'legumes' no longer vegetables as such, yet under the wider great distinction between meat and vegetables, beans/legumes/pulses are seen to be in or of the vegetable kingdom. back to coffee: call it what you will, the only thank you to truly appreciate it incredibly is to drink it with out milk, cream, sugar, and so on. as quickly as you have had it black, you will in no way bypass back.
