I have been working a night shift for 3 years. I hate it, but it pays really good. I am going to school, but I got a couple years left before I get my degree. My problem is if I get off schedule on the weekends to try to do something with my friends or family, Im so tired or in such I bad mood I never have fun. Then again, if I sleep like I should, Im only up at night and there is nothing to do. I am bored out of my mind. Is there anything I can do for entertainment? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds like you are sacrificing, for a better future! Which will pay off later.Do you have a garage, maybe you could get into wood crafting (dremel tool) .build something.or some other type of craft.buy you a camera take up photography,city/country photos at night. meet friends for breakfast, research something online if you're looking for a job different from your own state.get your job portfolio together. It really depends on what state your in ,as to what else is going on during 3rd shift activities. But hang in there!

What I do is this:

On my first day off, I go home and sleep for about 4 hours, so that I am rested. I sleep regularly for that night, and the next night. On the day I return, I get up very early, get my things done, then I lay back down about 4-5 hours in the evening. The next morning I catch up by sleeping a bit later than I ordinarily sleep. By taking those naps and catching up later, I feel fine for the rest of the week.
