About a week of annoying signs, then 3 days of more intense pre labor for me...

Sounds like it could be pre-labour but also just late pregnancy!
My braxton hicks were like labour for more than a month before due date, (i actually thought i was in labour everytime)but if the mucus is thick and blood tinged it could be a show which means the thing plugging up your cervix has gone and that can happen anywhere up to 2 weeks before hand.
It really is hard to know what is pre-labour as the signs can mimick the normal late pregancy ones. If anything becomes too uncomfortable or you just 'have the feeling' (and you WILL KNOW ) you are in labour, then go and see or ring your doctor. Something will tell you when you are in labour. If you have doubts, you probably aren't. As I said, you will know when it happens, trust me! Its unmistakeable! Good luck, enjoy every second!

Hi there.Congrats on all most being there!!!!
I was 3cm dilated for a week and a half before i went into labour, not fun you walk around like the baby is going to fall out. You wont be too far once you get a bloody show, but its hard to tell the exact time as we are all so different. I know that's the last thing you want to hear.
A few tips when your little bundle arrives that i wish i had of known. If the baby is in pain like wind they want to suck that's the only way the can deal with pain. My baby got really bad wind when my milk came in and i was feeding him as thats what i though he wanted but i was making it worse. After i found that out i got a dummy and he has slept through ever since. even if you use a dummy just while your milk comes in if bub gets wind. I wish you the very best.

Not too much longer! Have you seen a midwife? If your mucus plug has gone I would get checked out. My first baby, few weeks of braxton hicks, plug went on saturday morning, waters broke midnight wednesday, baby born friday morning. Second, braxton hicks few weeks, contractions started at 2am, baby born 2pm. Third time, was in hospital havin contractions at 34weeks, was told would have baby early, had contractions every 10-15minutes for next 6 weeks, on due date woke feeling strange, kind of like I knew, contractions gradually got stronger at around 1pm, had midwife appointment at 2pm, was 2-3cm dilated, baby born at 10pm. Hope you not waiting too much longer and end up reading these answers when you returned from hospital with baby in arms. Good Luck. Xx

Mine lasted two weeks of the horrible waiting game, by the end they had to induce me - but on a positive note i was only in labour for 4 hours ! so it was worth the waiting ! but i had braxton hicks for 2 months on and off.
