I read it and for the most part, liked it, especially because it was so relevant to our culture today - the CELL phone.

It was more graphic than some and the plot was a little out there (Seriously, if you didn't know someone and the world was going crazy, would you hook up with some guy you didn't know to trudge across the state looking for his son? Well, maybe...)

One thing I wanted more was some history. Who started it? Why? What happened and where does it go from here?

I can tell you I've been behind people at the grocery store and post office and I've sort of wished there was a "pulse." Pretty sad, huh?

So many of his books turn into mediocre movies. Great, the zombie aspect. That's not the real story here, so I hope it's not the main focus. I'm hoping in the movie there will be some explaining, because audiences might not be too keen on a plot full of holes. We want to know why? Who? When? How?

Very, very standard Stephen King - a mile away from his better books. And for some reason his books, unless they are more 'reality based' (The Green Mile, Carrie, The Shining, Misery) tend to make rubbish films (Christine, Salem's Lot, Cujo, The Dead Zone, Firestarter, Pet Semetary, Needful Things) Though before anyone points it out, yes, the Bachman short stories fare better - Running Man is OK, and Stand By me and the Shawshank Redemption are pretty fine.... However, Eli Roth seems to disagree with me, for word is he will direct an adaptation of Cell later this year, though given his reaction (below), I am not anticipating great art...
'I F***ing LOVE that book. Such a smart take on the zombie movie. I am so psyched to do it.'

Interesting to see his take on the zombie genre. It was not his best work. Not even close. It seemed uninspired especially as the book progressed. He has much better books out there. From a Buick 8 is a nice little undiscovered gem. George "Father of the Zombie Movies" Romaro is directing a film version of that one. The Dark Tower series is excellent as well. If you can make it through quite a long read, IT is very, very good too.

Interesting to see all the different opinions on this book. I just got it from the library, along with Lisey's Story. I'm looking forward to reading both of them as the last couple of King books I read have been a bit disappointing. (I'm a big King fan.)

It was good to see him get back to Horror. The zombie aspect really made the book a scary one. It was one of his better written novels.
Most all of his works could be great films if they haven't been already.

I was very disappointed with the book.
Not really any suspense being built up.
It was if he started before knowing how it was going to end and he just sort of muddled on through.
Only read on the beach in March and for the life of me I cannot even remember the ending - not much of an impact for me.

certainly I variety of concept that it defined why Naomi Campbell throws cellular telephones at her employed help. Did you spot the relatively massive mistake in the final bankruptcy? Stephen King twisted up. Dont worry - no one is going to pulse you - use your cellular telephone freely. Or in case you sense scared - get a sidekick and textual content textile rather. Pax - C. Write me and that i will tell you the blunders.
