PS1s were originally relelased with an Audio Visual Cable or AV cable with yellow/red/white plugs for the tv.
And a power cord
If you want to get technical read on =)
The original PS release (96?) came with a AV cable designed specifically for the PS. A latter version of the console (97) used the standard AV cable found in any electronics store. That lasted about a year or so, then Sony reverted back to the original cable setup.
When the PS1 was release (the small white PS), it came with the Sony PS cable, and a different power cord. This power cord has the transformer on it, as opposed to being inside the larger PS.
You will also find that the PS2 cables are exactly the same as the orignal PS cables. =)
hope that helps
