It is very very hard to pin-point the date of conception as sperm can live inside the woman for 5 days, which means if you are going by conception date alone, you could be off 5 days in either direction. The method the doctors use, if the first date of the woman last period. This is most accurate until an ultrasound has been done and a better estimate can be given. This esitmate can change during any following ultrasounds as the image of the baby becomes more clear and it is easier to determine the gestational age of the fetus.

You should go by the mothers last period (DAY 1). Although since we don't have this information I've calculated the due date according to the 20th of May using her cycle as 28 days (although this date could be off if her cycle is 28 days or more). The due date of your baby is Feb 9th, 2008.

Ask your doctor for a more accurate due date, and always remember they are simply the best extimate a doctor (or anyone else) can give you, baby can be born anywhere from 37-42 weeks at full term! This is 5 weeks, so the month difference in due dates you've been given...is accurate in this regard!

You start counting from the First day of your last menstrual period, not the day you conceive. If you conceived on the 20th then your LMP should be about the 6th, approx 14 days before. That could be why the dates are different. Go see your GP/OBGYN for a dating ultrasound to be sure, but due date would be approx 10 Feb '08. You should be about 10weeks now, so you should have seen an OBGYN by now.

That's where you are going wrong. Most due date calculators start from the first day of your last period.

If you conceived around the 20th of May you are due around the 10th February 2008 & you are 10 weeks & 1 day pregnant.

Take the date of the last period, add 9 months and 7 days. Only gat a really accurate date from a scan. If you are a man as other person suggests then how long have you been with her? Make sure it is yours, I had afriend who was told the baby was his, born "4weeks early" but perfectly healthy, his mum noticed the baby looked more like the older child from previous boyfriend and suggested blood test, daughter someone elses. =1 unhappy friend and 1 very embarrassed silly girl. Good luck, whoever you are.
